This 2017 Philadelphia minted Lincoln Shield penny has something very new and unique. The first time in history Philadelphia has used a p mint mark to indicate the mint in which it was produced on the United States penny. Philadelphia - in the past - has never needed to put a p mint mark on any coins because, Philadelphia is the original mint to make coins for the U.S. government. Philadelphia is considered to be the "mother" mint therefore all coins without a mint mark was minted in Philadelphia. With the exception of one coin in history, that would be the 1922 no d Lincoln wheat penny that was minted in Denver and some had no mint mark. It is obvious the ones with no mint mark were minted in 1922 was made in Denver due to the fact that Philadelphia made no pennies in 1922, for the first time in our Penny history. This  p minted 2017 penny could become very rare once we know the total mintage. We will know where it will take its place in history. Get yours now while you can .. the earlier coins are always the highest grade coins.
